I am in the process of creating a new collection of photographs focusing on graffiti.  Walking the streets of New York City, you can find various locations which have been “enhanced” with the work of various “street artist”, as I like to refer to them.   The following is a selection of enhanced digital photographs of graffiti I shot on location of this “pop art”.

Most people probably to do not think about it, but “graffiti” is temporary art and is always changing as new artists move in and work over previous images ... or mother nature takes hold and works her magic with the rain and bleaching effect of the sun.   I am always thrilled to capture it and preserve the images for the future.    All images are available as prints or giclees on stretched canvas in a variety of sizes.  Please call for availability and prices.  All are limited edition works and can be viewed on my website at RandyBarney.com.

New Painting on Wood Panel

Here are few of the new paintings I created and hung on the walls of my studio at the BakeHouse. Notice I have a few small geographical abstract paintings and 2 new larger adbstracts which have human heads as the subject. I am enjoying my return to painting. It has been about 2 years since I picked up a paint brush. I was only creating metal sculptures recently, but now have gone back to dive into the "oils" again. It feels good!

Green Warrior Metal Sculpture

This is the second piece I created. I enjoyed creating this series. It is the first time I expanded the actual sculpture to include the neck area of the head. I think it adds alot to the piece and creates more interest.

New Works as of May 08

I finished 4 new metal sculptures of warrior heads for the upcomming CCA3 - Third Annual Communion Celebrates Art on 5/31/08. It will be held at the BakeHouse Art Complex in Miami, Florida. Each piece is unique and a different color.

The festival was a great event and a huge success for selling my artwork. It was great to visit with friends and meet new art lovers!
